People need direction, and what’s more is they need POSITIVE direction. If you are taking pictures of people or children, get them excited about being in front of the camera. Make it fun, keep them moving, tell them where to look and what to do. Most importantly keep it Real. Even if you are shooting a product, give it life. Treat it as if you wou were taking a picture of a person, and match the photo to the story you are trying to tell.
ASSIGNMENT: Take a random object like a banana or a hair dryer, and take a sad picture of that object and a happy picture. Use lighting, composition, and editing to convey these 2 polar emotions.
